What is candle sand and how does it work?
Candle sand is an innovative and sustainable way to burn candles. It consists of fine wax granules that you pour into a fireproof holder or bowl. You place a special wick in the sand and light it. The candle burns only around the wick, making the sand largely reusable.
How long does candle sand burn?
This depends on the amount and type of wick you use. On average, 100 grams of candle sand burns for about 40 hours . You can always add new wicks to extend the burn time.
Why does your candle sand burn longer than other brands?
This is because we color our candle sand by hand, while other brands source it from China and color it chemically.
Is candle sand odorless or are there scented varieties?
Candle sand itself is usually unscented, but you can add fragrance with fragrance oil . M1 Candles offers special fragrance oils that allow you to create a subtle or intense scent. You control the amount of fragrance by adding drops with a pipette.
How safe is candle sand compared to traditional candles?
Candle sand is safer than traditional candles because its melting point is low and the flame is confined to the wick. There's less risk of fire, especially if you use a stable, fireproof container. If the container tips over, the candle sand will extinguish the flame.
What do I need to use candle sand?
You only need three things:

- A fuse
- A fireproof container or dish
Optional: you can add fragrance oils for a scent experience.
How can I reuse candle sand?
After blowing out the flame, you can remove the used wick and add new candle sand. Any unburned sand remains intact and can be reused.
